2010 Resource Directory Available For Pre-Order

The 2010 Massachusetts Home Care Resource Directory is now available for pre-order on our Alliance’s website.  Copies will begin shipping by the end of the month.

combines thoroughness with ease-of-use to give you the best guide to home care services in Massachusetts.  If you’re a nurse, social worker, GCM, or anyone else who needs to find the best home care agency to fit your patient’s needs, this is the one resource you need.

The Resource Directory lists our 164 agency members alphabetically, complete with full contact information and a description of the services they offer.  It also contains a detailed town-by-town cross reference that lets you find local agencies can provide service to your patient.  Sample pages are available here.

Second Edition of Private Care Guide Coming

Due to unprecedented demand, the Alliance has already distributed and/or received orders for nearly all 8,000 copies of its 2010 Guide to Private Services.  And it’s still 2009!

To ensure that the Guide is always available and up-to-date, we will be printing 2,000 copies of a 2nd Edition, set for release by the end of the year.  In the meantime, we are still taking orders for the Guide, which is also available for free download.

The 2010 Home Health Resource Directory should be available in January and will be shipped to every hospital, COA, and ASAP in the state, as well as every oncologist and geriatric specialist.

The Medical Home and Home Care

State and federal policy maker support for more patient-centered and enhanced primary care in the form of a “medical home” or “health home” (according to Senate Finance Committee)  makes it highly likely that more Massachusetts practices will move to this model in 2010.

As a member of the state Medical Home Coordinating Council, the Home Care Alliance has crafted a white paper on ways that home care agencies might engage and support physician practices converting to PCMHs.
