2010 Guide to Private Home Care Services Released

The Home Care Alliance has released the 2010 Guide to Private Home Care Services: A Directory of Private Home Care Agencies in Massachusetts. The directory offers Massachusetts residents a listing of reputable, professional home care providers by town and county as well as valuable information on how to both choose and pay for home care.

HCA to Attend Case Managers Society Meeting

I will be representing the Alliance at the annual Case Managers Society of New England conference in Worcester on Thursday and Friday.  In addition to distributing copies of the 2009 Resource Directory — I ran out of the 100 copies I brought to last year’s conference — I will debut the new 2010 Guide to Private Care Services at this meeting.

CORI Information Q and A: September 2nd

For Home Care Alliance members with questions or concerns regarding CORI processing delays, the state’s Executive Office of Health an Human Services will be holding a conference call with a question and answer session from 3:00 – 4:30pm on Wednesday, September 2.

To register for the session, email “EOHHSCORIquestions@state.ma.us” and a response will ensue with instructions on how to join the call. EOHHS posted a flier with more information on the session, which can be viewed by clicking here. The flier also has a link to the Health and Human Services website where CORI policies and other useful documents are posted.

Pamphlet: Using Home Oxygen Safely

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Department of Fire Services has released a pamphlet geared towards patients, families, doctors, nurses, therapists and first responders regarding safe use of oxygen in the home.

Membership e-Renewals Are Here!

I’m pleased to announce that — for the first time — Alliance agencies will have the choice of either renewing their membership through traditional the hard-copy application or electronically.  Though, the primary contact of each member agency should receive a package with the hard-copy renewal (which should arrive by Friday), we highly encourage you to e-Renew.
